Paul and Maire will be travel to Kenya at the end of October to share their beBrilliant ethos with young medics.
They’ll be in Nairobi helping a group of healthcare experts, from newly-appointed paediatricians to senior managers, to develop their leadership and team working skills, so they can help to improve the management of the care of newborn babies in Kenya.
Paul says, “We will be working for Mike English, an Oxford paediatrician and academic who has been working to strengthen the Kenyan Health System for over 20 years. We are running a two-day workshop for the group, and as well as developing their skills we will be facilitating the workshops alongside some of Mike’s colleagues, so they can deliver similar workshops in Kenya in the future.”
Paul and Mike have been working together on global health at the University of Oxford’s Green Templeton College for a number of years. Earlier this year Mike attended our workshop for the GTC Management in Medicine Programme, which prompted him to ask if we could help with his work in Kenya. Paul adds, “We are very pleased to be doing so as part of our organisation’s commitment to improving global health.”
